Setting Up Your Mindray C1A Defibrillator

Everything you need to get your defibrillator rescue ready, and what to do if the status light changes.

When your defibrillator arrives

When you receive your Mindray C1A Defibrillator, please remove all contents from the packaging.

Fitting the battery

The AED battery is supplied in a small box within the defibrillator packaging. To activate the unit, simply insert the battery into the defibrillator. Secure it using the supplied battery cover and the two small screws provided.

The self-test

Once the battery has been installed, the defibrillator will automatically perform a self-test. During this process, you will be prompted to:

• Open the unit.
• Press the Shock button (semi-automatic models only).
• Move the Adult/Child switch.
• Press the Language button.

Once these steps are complete, the defibrillator will confirm that it is in good working order. You can then close the lid. A flashing green status light on the outside of the defibrillator indicates that the unit is rescue ready.

Battery and pad life

The AED battery has a lifespan of up to five years. Battery life will gradually reduce over time and will decrease more quickly if the defibrillator is activated or opened unnecessarily. The electrode pad expiry date is clearly displayed on the front of the defibrillator.

Checking the status light

The Mindray C1A performs an automatic self-diagnostic test every day at approximately 3:00 am. If the unit detects an issue, the status light will change from flashing green to flashing red. If this occurs, please contact our office for troubleshooting advice. Please have the defibrillator's serial number available when you call.

Ongoing maintenance

The defibrillator does not require routine servicing or manual testing. It should only be opened in the event of a potential emergency or when replacing the electrode pads. Opening the defibrillator unnecessarily may trigger a false error indication and will also reduce the battery's lifespan.
