The Story Behind the Kit: The Daniel Baird Foundation

The foundation was launched in memory of Daniel Baird, who died at just 26 years old following a stabbing in Birmingham. In the critical moments after his injury, there was no emergency bleeding control equipment available.

Since then, the Daniel Baird Foundation has worked tirelessly to make bleed kits accessible across the country. Backed by medical experts and supported by communities nationwide, the foundation has helped shift the UK’s safety culture, proving that trauma response doesn’t have to be left to professionals alone.
