At London Hearts, we’re passionate about improving cardiac arrest awareness, and we’re thrilled to have recently provided Fulham walking FC with an Automated External, marking a significant step forward in player safety on the pitch.
A Step Towards Preparedness
The AED acquisition is part of a larger effort to ensure that grassroots sports teams are prepared to respond to sudden cardiac emergencies. Fulham Walking FC has made an important commitment to the health and safety of their players, emphasising the importance of having life-saving equipment readily available, even in the hope that it will never need to be used. The club’s leadership has highlighted that this initiative serves as both a practical measure for emergencies and a crucial reminder of the life-saving benefits of being ready to respond to a cardiac arrest situation.
Team Education: CPR and Emergency Response
In addition to securing the AED, Fulham Walking FC has taken proactive steps to raise awareness and educate their players on the critical role of CPR in saving lives. The team has engaged in discussions and training on how to respond to cardiac emergencies, ensuring that everyone on the pitch knows exactly what to do in an emergency. This educational effort complements the club’s commitment to making their sports environment a safe space for all players, fostering a culture of preparedness and responsiveness.
Setting an Example for Others
By implementing a comprehensive Medical Emergency Action Plan and equipping their pitch side with an AED, Fulham Walking FC is setting a powerful example for other sports teams, both at the amateur and professional levels. The message is clear: player safety must be a priority, and having the right equipment and training in place can make all the difference in an emergency.
London Hearts is proud to be a part of this mission. We’re dedicated to raising awareness about cardiac arrest and ensuring that every community has access to the life-saving resources they need. The work we do with teams like Fulham Walking FC shows the impact of collaboration and highlights the importance of taking action in the fight to save lives.
Gratitude and Partnership
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Fulham Walking FC for their dedication to player safety and for championing the cause of cardiac arrest awareness. We also want to express our gratitude to the DAM Foundation for their continued support in making this initiative possible. Together, we are helping to ensure that more people have access to the vital resources they need to respond effectively to sudden cardiac arrest.
This partnership demonstrates the power of community collaboration in safeguarding lives, and we are excited to see what’s next in this ongoing journey. To learn more about how you can get involved in spreading awareness and providing life-saving resources in your community, visit our website.

At just 12 years old, Isabelle (Izzy) has taken on an inspiring challenge to raise £150 for The Witham Hub’s defibrillator campaign, which aims to install 10 defibrillators across the town. Currently, 8 defibrillators have been installed, and Izzy’s fundraising efforts are pushing the campaign closer to its final goal.
This November, Izzy has committed to a daily task of 100 hops a day to contribute to the defibrillator campaign. With each hop, she’s raising awareness and much-needed funds to help The Witham Hub bring life-saving defibrillators to the community. Izzy’s dedication and enthusiasm are truly remarkable, as she shares daily videos of her hopping sessions online to keep her supporters up-to-date🦵💓
“I’ve learned how important defibrillators are in saving lives during cardiac arrests and heart attacks,” Izzy said. “Anyone can have a cardiac arrest at any age, and that’s why it’s so important to have these life-saving devices accessible in our community. I really hope we can meet our target of 10 defibrillators in the town.”
Izzy’s efforts come at a time when the importance of accessible defibrillators has never been clearer. The survival rate for someone experiencing a cardiac arrest increases significantly if a defibrillator is used promptly. By providing defibrillators in public spaces, The Witham Hub is working to ensure that help is always within reach when it’s needed most⚡️💖
Tina Townsend, Chair of Trustees at The Witham Hub, shared her appreciation for Izzy’s fundraising efforts: “We are incredibly proud of Izzy’s commitment to this cause and so grateful for her volunteer work at The Hub. Despite her young age, she is already showing what a difference one person can make. Her enthusiasm and hard work are an inspiration to all of us.”
Izzy’s campaign, which she’s called ‘Hopping for Hearts,’ has already garnered a great deal of attention and support from the community. Her JustGiving page has become a focal point for donations, and people from all walks of life have come together to help her reach her £150 target.

The Importance of Defibrillators in Saving Lives
The Witham Hub’s campaign is not only about purchasing defibrillators but ensuring they are strategically placed and well-maintained to maximise their life-saving potential.
Research shows that the use of a defibrillator can improve the chances of survival by up to 15% when used in the critical moments following a cardiac arrest. This is why The Witham Hub’s campaign is so vital for the local community—ensuring that no one has to face a life-threatening emergency without the support of these life-saving devices💓
How You Can Help
Izzy’s efforts are a wonderful reminder that anyone—no matter their age—can make a difference in their community. Whether you’re hopping, running, donating, or simply spreading the word, every little bit helps. By supporting campaigns like this, we can all play a part in making our communities safer.
